I’m Jill and my husband is Chris. Together with our 4 kids (boys ages 6,6,9 and 10) we try to have fun and learn as we go each and every day. We started this blog to share our adventures, reviews and thoughts about fun family activities in and around New England. Our home is in Massachusetts, but you never know where we might end up. Check back or subscribe to our feed. We’re always doing something!

Hi, Jill and Chris. This is a great site – I have two toddler granddaughters and will forward your information to their moms!
I work for an organization in New Hampshire called Breathe New Hampshire. We have been around since 1916 and our mission is to eliminate lung disease. We are hosting an asthma family weekend camp for chilren who have asthma and their parents. I thought you might like to share this information with your readers. I’m sure you are aware of how prevalent asthma is, and especially in the New England states.
Here are the details:
Asthma Family Weekend scheduled for June 6 and 7. The event is designed to help parents and their children improve their understanding of asthma and enhance the quality of life for children who are living with asthma.
During the course of the weekend, participants will also enjoy a variety of recreational activities, including an all camp softball game and a campfire with stories and songs. Medical professionals will also provide both parents and children with educational activities designed to help them better understand asthma, how an asthma episode can be triggered, how to handle an episode, and how asthma medication works.
“This event is a great opportunity for families to work together to learn about living with asthma,” explains Lisa Stockwell, Asthma Program Manager at Breathe New Hampshire. “Kids also get to interact with other children dealing with the condition in a supportive, fun atmosphere.”
The Asthma Family Weekend will be held at YMCA Camp North Woods and Pleasant Valley, which is located in Tuftonboro, NH. The weekend will begin at noon on Saturday, June 6 and run through noon on Sunday June 7, 2009. All children should be between the ages of eight and 12 years old and must be accompanied by at least one parent or caregiver. For more information or to register for the event, please call 1-800-835-8647 or visit http://www.breathenh.org.
